November Contest Winner - Marie - Candle and Topper Set
Well we made it to hump day, the weekend is getting close. Hope you all are having a great day so far. Its been sptting and sputtering snow here this morning. Looks like mostly rain now so I guess thats a good thing. Still waiting on ya'll to start sending in some Christmas Holiday Dessert Recipes. The new contest has started but so far not 1 single recipe has gotten to me yet. I know you all must have recipes or your family does for goodies for Christmas. Well not much other news here other then just staying in today and trying to stay dry. Cold weather sucks, I'd rather be out working in the garden. Well people I will see you all tomorrow....
CHRISTMAS DESSERT CONTEST INFO - This month it will be a a contest for recipes for Christmas Goodies. It can be for pies, cakes, candies and all sorts of Holiday Desserts and goodies. It must be one of your own recipes or a family recipe. The one I like the best wins a Candle and Topper Set plus a $10 Walmart Gift Card. In order for me to continue to do the4 recipe conte4st I will and do expect a min. of 25 of you to get entered into the contest this month. Lets gets some new bllod entering the contest here and all you regular ones please continue also. Lets make this the best recipe contest of the year. Show me what you got stashed away in those recipes of yours. All its takes is for you to pull out one of your favorite recipes and sent it in to me to be entered into the contest people. All prizes come out of my pocket so what do you have to lose other then a minute of your time to send it in. Remember to send them into barry2002 @ lynchburgweb.net....

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk or water
2 tablespoons shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
Crumb Topping (See Below)
Directions: 1 - Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease and flour 8-inch square pan or 9-inch round pan.
2 - Beat all ingredients except Crumb Topping in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly. Beat on medium speed 4 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan.
3 - Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool slightly.
4 - Make Crumb Topping; spread over cake. Set oven control to Broil. Broil about 3 inches from heat about 3 minutes or until golden brown.
Crumb Topping
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped nuts
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
2 tablespoons milk
